  • What are the fees once I become an instructor?

Congratulations on achieving the level of Instructor. This certification will allow you to supplement your income by teaching our cutting edge Battlefield programs. Once you become an instructor, we charge a monthly licensing fee of, are you ready, $20 per month. This includes your listing on the website so that people in your area can find you. You will keep all testing fees when testing your students in the Battlefield Kali programs and make money that way as well. We want to make it easy on everyone to enjoy the training and earn extra income at the same time.

  • Do I have to spar full power?

No. The level of intensity depends on your personal goals. Just spend a lot of time sparring at moderate intensity so you can apply your techniques against a resisting opponent.

  • When I start, do I only do hand sparring?

No. You should do all the types of sparring as demonstrated on DVDs 1 through 4. Just do more hand only sparring rounds, so that you can take the first test. Download all of the sparring logs and keep track of the other rounds so they’ll count towards your other tests.

  • Where does Battlefield Kali come from?

I have taken all the years of studying the Inosanto blend, plus my training with the Ilustrisimo’s group, and training with others including the Zulus and then I put it all through the filter of Dog Brother type fighting. I then made improvements based upon my experiences and through watching others fight full contact with little protection, especially on the method of training in order to develop fighting skill quickly. We must remember that the Inosanto blend includes very important elements, such as GM Leo Giron’s methods, Villabrille’s methods, and those of others. I found very few original techniques myself, just re-discovered details on techniques and strategies. I did come up with some unique methods of training, especially the power generation drills which borrow heavily from Thai boxing methods of training.
